Season 15, Hell's Legacy, leans hard into Diablo's past, but it does not just replay old memories. Deckard Cain sends you through Waking Nightmares where Baal, Mephisto, and Diablo leave behind powers you can actually build around. Before setting off, it is worth checking your D4 items, since these fights ask for more than a quick damage setup. The Diablo route stands out early. Near Corbach, Cain points you toward Aidan and the old Cathedral. You then push through familiar faces: the Butcher, Blood Raven, and the Summoner. Diablo cannot be hurt while his Portals of Darkness remain, so the fight has a clear rhythm: clear the portals, stay alive, then hit hard. His splinter also gives you a shot at the Stone of Jordan.
A trip back through Mephisto's territory
The Burning Shepherd takes a different approach. Cain sends you to Travincal in Hawezar, where the route is built around Khalim's relics. Pick up the Brain, Eye, Heart, and Flail, and they become Khalim's Will. That opens the way through the Compelling Orb and into the Durance of Hate. It is a nice change of pace from ordinary dungeon runs because it feels like a proper objective chain. The quick comparison is simple: Route | Main stop | Key reward. Mephisto | Durance of Hate | runes, experience, second splinter. Diablo | Cathedral and Hell | third splinter, possible Stone of Jordan. Baal | Horadrim quest path | first splinter, possible Leoric's Crown. Leoric's Crown is especially interesting because it works like jewellery, can hold Soul Splinters, and strengthens its socketed gem by 75 to 100 percent.
Picking the power that fits your routine
Once all three splinters are on Cain's table in the Imperial Library, you choose one Prime Evil Power. You are not locked into every activity, but only one alignment runs at a time, so pick based on what you actually play. 1. Diablo's Flames of Metus sends fire across the ground and suits Helltides plus Infernal Hordes. 2. Baal's Ice of Excidium bursts enemies with cold damage, then throws out smaller shards; it is a solid match for Undercity runs and Lair Boss farming. 3. Mephisto's Ghosts of Odium releases physical spirits and puts the focus on Pit and Nightmare Dungeon progress. Each path changes its related activity through War Plans, which gives the season a bit more direction than simply chasing the same loop every night.
Making the reputation grind pay off
Your chosen Prime Evil track needs 20,000 reputation for full progress. That sounds like a lot, yet it builds naturally if you stay with the activities tied to your splinter. The six upgrades matter more than the first power tooltip might suggest. Some help with primary resource, while others take a chunk of an enemy's maximum life. If you are short on time, stick to one route rather than bouncing between all three. A focused setup, a few smart upgrades, and reliable cheap d4 gear can make the tougher seasonal encounters feel far less punishing, especially once the higher-tier runs start stacking pressure.
